The Two Likely Research Subjects

Here’s what to do:

If you haven't chosen a subject yet, and, perhaps, even if you have, please browse some or all of the websites below to find two likely research subjects—two subjects that you think you might be interested in exploring further.  Put each subject in the "Hedge" and view it from as many perspectives as you can.  As you do this, make a physical list of the pieces that spill out of the "Hedge" activity. These pieces we'll call "topics." Pick two to continue.

Turn to your journal and free-write what you already know about each topic--this activity would count as two journal entries.

Then it's off to the virtual library to perform a Sources Search to see what's available for each of these topics. Browse the resources, trying your hand at as many databases as you can to find likely information on your topics.  Don't forget to give the Google Domain Search a try.  You need not print out anything--this is just a browse.

Record any questions and/or problems you have finding sources and resources, and bring this written list to the library when we meet with Tim.

Finally, in a short posting, please share your two choices with the rest of us, and for each choice, please add a sentence or two explaining why you chose it.

Please post your two topics and the reasons you chose each to the discussion forum Two Likely Research  Topics.
