Welcome to Legends, Spokane Community College's literary and arts journal. We accept art, poetry, and short story submissions from students, staff, alumni and faculty year-round. Submissions are juried by the Legends' staff of student editors. The journal is issued in hard copy each May.
Legend's Club hosts a used book sale each year, a literary event each February, and the annual book launch for the new journal each May. During winter quarter, the Club becomes a class: ENG 226/227 Literary Editing and Design. Students are taught the workings of the literary magazine, theory and practice. The class is taught by the club advisors, Jan Strever and Carrie Bucher, but members of the staff/students choose the entries for each year's edition. We are truly a student-based publication.
