Guidelines for Submission
Please remember that no submitted work will be returned, except for selected visual art pieces, so please do not submit your only copy.
-
All work should be typed using standard fonts (nothing fancy), but can be submitted in .doc format only if via email or disk, for prose/poetry. Please check for minor spelling and grammar problems.
-
Artwork maybe submitted via email, disk, or hard copy. Hard copy submissions should be accompanied by protective covering, and safe handling instructions.
-
Each page of poetry should have the name of the author at the top of the page. On pieces longer than one page, repeat title on subsequent pages.
-
Short stories and essays must be in .doc format if submitted via disk or email, and should include the title and/or author's name on each page. Maximum length of short stories and essays is 2500 words.
-
All submitted work should arrive with a submission sheet. You may pick these up from the Legends office which is room 239b, Jan Strever's and Carrie Bucher's office, room 239a or in the tutoring center in building 1. (The computer lab, upstairs)
- Work may be submitted online (see below) via email, dropped off on campus, or sent to us via snail mail. Every submission must be accompanied by your name, address, email address (if you have one) and your phone number so we may contact you. If it does not include these items, it will not be considered.
- If possible, name your work. We will not think up a title for you. If you do not have a title, it will be unnamed.
- Copyright - we retain first copyrights until publication (please do not submit to other publications at the same time), after that we just ask that you acknowledge us in all future submissions. If your piece has been published previously, please let us know in the submission form.
You can now submit your poetry, stories,
or art online! Go here to submit your work.
Remember you must be affiliated with SCC for your work to be considered!
