Book Group:
Final Presentation---Making Connections Between Texts
For this presentation, it is important to keep the following ideas in mind as you and
your group are planning:
What:
 |
Work as a group to develop the details of your final plan for your presentation. |
 |
Make the presentation interactive, imaginative, multi-faceted, and make us use all of
our intelligences and senses. |
Why:
 |
Your first goal is to make the class want to read the novel or book of short stories by
giving an understanding of the plot (up to the climax), characters, setting, writer's
background and style, theme of the novel (and perhaps other works that have that same
theme---was it like any of the stories we read?) and your critique as well as those of the
critics. Show your knowledge of literature here. |

Your second goal is to show us how the book fits with the many ideas of community we
have been exploring this quarter. |
How:
 |
Use the text in as many ways as you can in your presentation. |
 |
Utilize the work you do as individuals on your research papers. Show us some of the
interesting angles you took. |
 |
Use multi-media, a variety of approaches, and use the talent of your group. |
 |
You want to make your presentation intriguing, well paced, interactive with the class,
informative and most of all memorable. Each group will have 30-50 minutes. |
 |
Points will be deducted from your presentation grade if all members of your group are
not present for all presentations (2 points a day for each member absent). An audience is
important to any presentation, as we well know. |

You will have to spend some time outside of class working on this project. |
