Due Date: Thursday of each week by 10:30 a.m.

    Journal Expectations

For each week's reading,  you will choose one of the assigned readings and write a summary of the work and then a personal reaction to it. In addition you will try to draw connections between the readings and experiences. These typed journal entries will be minimally marked -- a wb01114_.gif (189 bytes) will receive 10 points, a + will receive 12 points and a ++ will receive 14 points. The more energy you put into the journal the higher the score.   In addition, please keep all of your journal entries, both handwritten and typed, together in one small binder, as I will collect that at the end of the quarter.

Over the course of the quarter, you will choose

    2 non-fiction works
    2 fiction
    2 poems
1 popular video that relates to the week's readings
1 each on the Rich and your group book
    1 from outside research
