S1Even though mathematics and chaos are extremely opposites, some believe that both disciplines can follow a similar platform. As shown by the following statement from the anthology, _Best Science Writing: Readings and Insights_, "Students of chaos theory, which is grounded in mathematics, believe that their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order deeply embedded in the chaos that seethes all around." (Fisher 142).
S2Today's laptops still have the same problems that were apparent in the beginning. This article dated July 1993 in _PC Magazine_ proves this disfunction. "Portable PCs present a double-edged sword: Powerful and capable, they can substitute for a desktop in certain situations but disappoint the general business user in terms of security, expansion, and display technology." (Rosch 124). a.Peter Elbow summarizes some different techniques to writing creatively in his book, _Writing With Power: Techniques for Mastering the Writing Process_. "Try different tones: chatty, authoritative, ironic. Try different ways of organizing: starting with the conclusion, building up to it last. Persuade with reasoning, with anecdote. Hide the weak arguments, admit them openly. Try to write it in half the length. Try different formats on the page such as lists or pictures or diagrams." (123). S1As clearly stated by Arthur Fisher, "students of chaos theory, which is grounded in mathematics, believe that their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order deeply embedded in the chaos that seethes all around them" (142 Best Science Writing)is a prime example of the need to fully understand mathematics. Rosch made it clear that laptops have both good and bad aspects. the small size is useful but they are not as secure or reliable as a normal computer (124). a.In _Writing With Power: Techniques for Mastering the Writing Process_, Peter Elbow points out the best way to change ones writing is to differ the style and technique at which the author writes. S1Arthur Fisher's essay, "Chaos: The Ultimate Asymmetry," exemplifies the idea of the chaos theory by stating that students "believe that their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order deeply embedded in the chaos that seethes all around"(142). S2While PCs are extremely useful, they business users may suffer difficulties due to security and display technology (Rosch 124). a.Peter Elbow provides pricless ideas for writers, such as "Try different tones: chatty, authoritative, ironic," in the book _Writing With Power: Techniques for Mastering the Writing Process_ (123). S1When reading the essay called "Chaos:The Ultimate Asymmetry," I found very intresting including the quote ""Students of chaos theory, which is grounded in mathematics, believe that their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order deeply embedded in the chaos that seethes all around."(Fisher,A1.) S2In the article from PC magazine "The Perfect System" dated July 1993, "Portable PCs present a double-edged sword:... the author realated the pros and cons of the perfect system.(Rosch.P.124.) a.When summarizing an article such as in Writing With Power: Techniques for Mastering the Writing Process. S1In example, "Students of chaos theory, which is grounded in mathematics, believe that their emerging discipline is revealin patterns of order deeply embedded i the chaos that seethes all around"(Fisher 142). S2Portable PCs can take the place of desktops in certain situations but may disappoint the gerneral business user(Rosch 124) a.try different tones and organizing. Follow persaion with reasoning. S1"Students of chaos theory, which is grounded in mathematics, believe that their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order deeply embedded in the chaos that seethes all around"(Fisher 142). S2Just as Winn L. Rosch said in "The Perfect System," portable PCs are a new type of desktop but are found to be dissapointing to the general business(124). a.As Elbow preaches "try different formats on the page," different tones, different organizing, and other ways to help "write it in half the length" (123). S1Arthur Fisher was quoted in his essay called "Chaos: The Ultimate Asymmetry," to have said "Students of the chaos theory, which is grounded in mathematics, believe that their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order deeply embedded in the chaos that seeths all around us" (142). S2It was once quoted in _PC Magazine_, Portable PCs present a double-edged sword: Powerful and capable, but in certain situations dissapoint the general business user in terms of security and expansion"(Rosch, 124). a.In Peter Elbow's, _Writing With Power: Techniques for Mastering the Writing Process_, he talks about different ways to state arguments. "Try different tones. Try different ways of organizing. Persuade with reasoning, with anecdote. Hide the weak arguments by trying to write them in half the length. Try different formats on the page such as lists or pictures" (123). S3Elbow, Peter. _Writing Wtih Power: Techniques for Mastering the Writing Process_. New York: Oxford University Press, 1981. S1Students studying chaos thory have a belief that "their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order" that we don't usually notice(Fisher 138-157). S2Winn L. Rosch says in his article, "The Perfect System," discusses how Portable PCs can be powerful and capable because they are poetable and can take the place of a big desktop. As far as security and expansion, they can be disapointing(124). a.Peter Elbow gives advice in his book,_Writing With Power: Techniques for Mastering the Writing Process_, published by Oxford University. He says to try to write in different tones and to orgainize in different ways. Also to persuade with reasoning and to hide your weak arguments. Using different formats is also helpful(123). S1Fisher stated, "Students of choaos theory, which is grounded in mathematics, believe that their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order deeply embedded in the chaos that seethes all around"(Fisher 142). S2Portable PCs can substitute a desktop in some situations, but not in security, expansion, and display technology (Rosch 124). a.Ways to improve your writing are: different tones, different ways of organizing, persuade with reasoning, hide the weak arguments, write it in half the lenght, and try different formats (Elbow 123). S1A. Fisher in his essay, "Chaos: The Ultimate Asymmetry," published in _Best Science Writing: Readings and Insights_, states, "Students of chaos theory, which is grounded in mathematics, believe that their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order deeply embedded in the chaos that seethes all around" (142). S2Currently, the main stream view is that "Portable PCs present a double-edged sword" (Rosch 124). While on one hand, they allow the user mobility, they lack several necessities a business person requires. a.To summarize the view of Peter Elbow in his book, _Writing With Power: Techniques for Mastering the Writing Process_, he states one should try using different techniques, try new ideas, and challenge yourself. S1From a selection of Arthur Fisher we find that "Students of chaos theory, which is grounded in mathematics, believe that their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order deeply embedded in the chaos that seethes all around" (Fisher, 142). S2We find however that with the power and capability of portable pc's, desktop computers are being replaced in certain situations while sacrificing display technology, security and expansion convenience (Rosch, 124). a.Writing with Power tells us to "try different tones: chatty, authoritative, ironic [...]Persuade with reasoning, with anecdote [and to] hide weak arguments [...] Try different formats on the page such as lists or pictures or diagrams" (Elbow, 123). S1Chaos theory has gained followers in some mathematic and physics circles. "Students of chaos theory, which is grounded in mathematics, believe that their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order deeply embedded in the chaos that seeths all around" (Fisher 142). S2Porable PCs are now both powerful and capabe, substituting for desktop PCs in many instances, but they do not allow for the same security, expansion potential and display technology (Rosch 124). a.Peter Elbow suggests that writers try different tones, different ways of organization different persuasive techniques or different page formats to increase their writing power (123). S1However “students of chaos theory, which is grounded in mathematics, believe that their emerging discipline is revealing patterns of order deeply embedded in the chaos that seethes all around” (Fisher 142). S2Although portable personal computers are as efficient as a desktop computer to society on the run; they can be quite inefficient to the average business user “[…] in terms of security, expansion, and display technology” (Rosch 124). a.According to an article _Techniques for Mastering the Writing Process_, Peter Elbow has some key suggestions like “try different tones [and]different ways of organizing” (123). He also recommends to “persuade with reasoning, hide weak arguments [and] write it in half the length” (123). Using diverse formants are also mentioned.
