Grading Information

Grades are assigned in the most objective manner as possible. Essays will be given points, ranging from 30 -- excellent to 0 -- not passing, while all other work will be given points. In order to understand what the distinction is between an 30 and other points, please review Essay evaluation.
An essay can be rewritten once after the original grading for an increase of five (5) points. For example, if an essay received a 18 on the original submission, it can be rewritten with the possibility of receiving a 23. (all revisions are due on Week 8)
Discussion postings, summaries, definitions, and other work will receive points based on completion.
A plus-plus,++, designates work that is excellent and is worth 14 points.
A plus, +, indicates an above-average rating and will receive 12 points.
Average (what is expected) work will receive 10 points.
Anything less than expected will be returned and will receive no points.
