In order for everyone to get used to the what's required in the class, your first assignment has to do with preparation and reviewing of what you already know. Please complete the following tasks:

Interview a member in the class, then write a paragraph or two based on that information, then send it to me. Click here to use a handout I have created to help with that task. When I receive your interviews, I will post them to a page, so that we can get to know each other a bit better.
Read through pages 1-75 in your handbook by Beacon. I know you are busy, so you don't have to memorize this information, just familiarize yourself with it.
Read the handout I have prepared for you about the writing process.
Go to the discussion board and read my response, then type in your own. Each week you will be responsible for posting your ideas and thoughts to the discussion board about what you are learning and/or thinking.
Read the handout on plagiarism. -- For five extra credit points, write a summary on the handout.

This class is task oriented. A minimum of two hours a day should be spent on this class.

Please be aware, I do not assign busy work. Each task I give to you serves to make you a more efficient and competent writer! Remember I don't give you grades: you earn them!
