Due Date: Tuesday of each week

Journal Expectations

Four days each week,  you will choose one of the assigned readings, an article from a magazine, or a story from the newspaper and write a summary of the work and then a personal reaction to it. In addition, you will try to draw connections between the readings and your own  experiences. These can be handwritten or typed. These should be no less than three paragraphs long.

At the end of the week, you will choose one of the week's entries, revise, and rewrite it. A rewritten journal entry should be between 300 and 600 words in length.  These will be turned in at the beginning of Tuesday's class. These typed journal entries (TJEs) will be minimally marked -- a wb01114_.gif (189 bytes) will receive 10 points, a + will receive 12 points and a ++ will receive 14 points. The more energy you put into the journal the higher the score.    In addition, please keep all of your journal entries, both handwritten and typed, together in one small 3 clasp binder, as I will collect them at the end of the quarter.
