    English 201 Portfolio

    Spring 2003

    Description:

A portfolio is a collection of your writing that provides an accurate window into your strengths and weaknesses as a writer. I will be examining your ability to organize and develop ideas effectively as well as your competence in using Standard English and MLA documentation.

    PORTFOLIO INSTRUCTIONS

Your Final PORTFOLIO is due on Thursday, Week 10. To be considered complete, it will consist of the following work:

An in-class essay written Tuesday and Wednesday -- there are no exceptions to this -- along with the following required work:
An out-of-class essay, consisting of assignment sheet, and both rough and final drafts.   In this case, any of your rewritten essays will suffice for this.
A typed journal entry should be included.
All of the above assignments need to be "text-based." That is, the writing should be in response to a reading and should incorporate references to that reading.
    One of your style exercises.
Any other work that is representative of the improvements you have made during the term that justify your completion of the English 201 -- this includes work you may have done in other classes or for your job.
