Our response to their emails is very prompt.  We will also continue to work with a staff or faculty member to address student issues when the need is immediate.

 

 

Student Bigfoot E-mail  

Every enrolled student has their own SCC Student Mailbox.

Enrolled students can find out how to access their Bigfoot e-mail account for the first time or how to forward their Bigfoot e-mail account by clicking on the word “Resources” on our SCC home page (http://www.scc.spokane.edu/).

Student E-Mail Format

The information students provide on their application for admission is used to create their Windows Live ID (Bigfoot e-mail username):

  • First name (up to 12 characters – no hyphens),
  • First letter of last name,
  • Last four digits of Student Identification (SID) number, and
  • @bigfoot.spokane.edu

At the “Password” prompt:

  • The first time logging in, students use their Student Identification (SID) number.  Students are prompted to create their own unique password after they’ve first logged in.

Note:

Student Bigfoot e-mail addresses are not case sensitive. 

The student e-mail system is being hosted by Microsoft’s Windows Live Hotmail.

If the student’s first name is longer than 12 characters, use just the first 12 characters of the first name and the first letter of the student’s last name.

User Name:

Bigfoot e-mail username is the same username that allows access to the lab computers on campus and is referred to as ‘Student Network Account’.

Bigfoot E-mail:

Example: Joe Student, SID 111-22-9999. Bigfoot e-mail username would be joes9999 and Bigfoot e-mail account would be joes9999@bigfoot.spokane.edu.

Student Network User Account

Students use this method to log into computers in SCC computer labs/classrooms.

‘User name’ prompt:    

First name (no hyphens) + First letter of last name + Last 4 digits of Student Identification (SID) number. 

Example:  Joe Student 111-22-9999 would be joes9999.

‘Password’ prompt:      

For their first time logging in, their password is their Student Identification (SID) number.

First time only, students are asked to change their password.

The new password must be at least 6 characters long.

This is the password that will be used hereafter.

‘Log on to:’ prompt:

Make sure Bigfoot is listed.

Select the ‘OK’ button once the new password is entered and confirmed.

New Students: 

‘UserID’ prompt:   

Student Identification (SID) number

 ‘Password’ prompt:

First 5 letters of last name (i.e. Johnson=johns, Lee=lee, O’Reilly=oreil)

Returning Students: 

‘UserID’ prompt:   

SID (Student Identification Number)

 ‘Password’ prompt:

Password from previous quarter
