is an Essay Planning Sheet? An Essay Planning Sheet is a form
used to plan an essay. Filling one out is easy: write your essay's thesis
sentence in the first blank and then write the topic sentences of your body
paragraphs in the appropriate blanks that follow. With this plan in
place, writing your rough draft becomes much easier because your Essay
Planning Sheet controls your essay’s organization and focus. Please remember this: until you
can fill out an essay planning sheet, you are not ready to write the essay. Before you begin writing your
rough draft of Essay #1, please fill out an Essay Planning Sheet by putting
your essay's thesis sentence and your body paragraphs' topic sentences in the
appropriate blanks. Please submit your completed Essay
